2019 Sart Thai Day Ceremony

The Thai Sart Day refers to merit-making activities for our deceased relatives and loved ones in the middle of the traditional Thai year usually sometime during September. People are making Krayasart from rice, bean, sesame and sugar cooked into a sticky paste and then wrapped with a banana leaf to offer to the monks on Sart Day and also to share with neighbors and friends. Chalagputt involves the people bringing needed items to offer to the monks. They mark each package with a number and put a copy of the number in a container. The monks randomly pick from the container and whichever one they choose, the person with that number brings their offering to the monks. This year, we will host the Thai Sart Day on Sunday, September 15, 2019. The schedule is as follows:

We would like to invite you to participate in the ordination accepting the 8 precepts and join in meditation, collection of merit, and listening to Dharma teachings.
